Dear Parents, Guardians, Friends and Members of the Leeds Elementary School Community,
Leeds Elementary is a great elementary school which offers an excellent, well-rounded education for our students. We creatively present the common core curriculum across academic areas, enrich our students lives in Early Bird and in Late Bird, and through a variety of programs including the Hitchcock grant, the community gardens and at Nature's Classroom.
Our students rise to meet all the daily challenges that are presented to them. Our faculty presents the curriculum in ways which inspire wonder, reflection and thought-provoking questions. Ourparents and guardians are supportive partners in every aspect of their childrens education and that collectively we are all fulfilled personally and professionally as we share in the joy of watching the students grow and mature.
The Leeds office staff under the direction of Administrative Assistant Julie Clark is reponsive and attentive to the needs of all who contact them. We have an incredibly diverse and talented staff who provide a positive academic environment for children to learn and to grow. We have a Student Service Staff that strongly supports our students and families. We have a custodial crew that strives to make this buiilding look as if it was built yesterday. We have students, who when they smile, laugh and wonder continually remind me why I entered the field of education in the first place.
My primary role as Principal is to support our students and our faculty as we create a safe and respectful climate where every child develops a strong sense of self, feels empowered as a learner, is nurtured within a community of mutual respect and is given growth opportunities. I am privileged to work with other administrators in this district who share that vision.
Communication with our families is an integral part of the elementary school experience. Children can and will learn best in an environment in which home and school form a strong bond with shared understanding and common goals; I encourage all to get involved through opportunities like the PTO, the School Council, the Science Fair, or through various class activities. I am confident you will be both entertained and impressed by our students. If you can, volunteer in a classroom, the cafeteria or at recess. I also encourage you to get in contact with the appropriate staff member regarding your concerns. As a community building, the doors are always open and you are always welcome here.
